Despite missing All-Star guard Ben Simmons, Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown is confident in his Sixers heading into the playoffs.

In a conference call with reporters on Sunday, Brown said his team has enough depth to go on a deep playoff run and make some noise.

The Sixers suffered a massive blow to their starting lineup when it was announced that Simmons would have to undergo surgery to remove a foreign body in his left knee. The operation sidelines him indefinitely.

Ben Simmons played a vital role for the Sixers defensively and offensively. Prior to his injury this 2019-20 campaign, the 24-year-old averaged 16.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and a team-high 8.0 assists in  35.4 minutes per game. However, since he'll most likely be sidelined throughout the entire 2020 playoffs, the 76ers will have to rely on their depth — as Brown said during his video conference.

For what it's worth, the Sixers acquired Alec Burks last February to give them a scoring boost off the bench. During the NBA seeding game, he has done just that, averaging over 20 points a game in his last four games.

In addition to Burks, the Sixers also have Al Horford, Furkan Korkmaz and, possibly, Shake Milton, coming off the bench. Those players certainly have the potential to be a difference-maker in the first round . However, that may not be enough to stop the third-seeded Boston Celtics.

Nevertheless, all eyes will be set on Brett Brown, who could be on the hot seat if the Sixers don't succeed. He'll obviously have to make some adjustments to his rotation if he wants to get past the first round.
