Joel Embiid probably planned to open a can of whoop-ass against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday. In the end, there was indeed Embiid and a can. But no whoop-ass was involved.

In the dying seconds of the Philadelphia 76ers' defeat to the Hawks in Game 7 at Wells Fargo Center, a fan threw a can on the floor, presumably out of sheer frustration. Because as wise logic would dictate, anytime you can throw a can when you're fuming, you do it (via Reddit).

Embiid, who had a solid series overall, was visibly frustrated when he picked up the can and tossed it off the hardwood. At that point, he was probably already replaying in his head his crucial misses. Another year, another regrettable NBA Playoffs for the imposing big man out of Cameroon.

Embiid finished with a double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds, but he also committed eight turnovers, as the magnitude of the do-or-die affair might've rattled his nerves. He missed a couple of jumpers in the closing stretch, allowing the Hawks to escape with a 128-124 victory.

Sixers fans got eerily silent as the Hawks were wrapping up their win. But one fan clearly can't control his anger. But Joel Embiid can. Get it? Can? Because there was a can? Never mind.
