Despite an early playoff exit, the Philadelphia 76ers had a true bright spot in Tyrese Maxey throughout the postseason. The sophomore stud did more to endear himself to the fan base right after their elimination in Game 6 against the Miami Heat.

Sixers head coach Doc Rivers spilled on his first interactions with Maxey after their season had ended. First, Maxey checked in on his coach in the wee hours of the morning following Game 6. But then Rivers revealed Maxey wanted more than just a conversation. He wanted to get back to business.

Via Sixers reporter Lauren Rosen:

“Max (Tyrese Maxey) wanted to meet today about his plans for next week. I refused to meet with him today, because I think he should take more time off than a week.”

The lone silver lining of bowing out early in the postseason is the chance to rest up, go on vacation, and meet your friends and family that you haven't seen throughout the NBA season.

Tyrese Maxey was given that opportunity but still had basketball on his mind after the bitter exit for his Sixers team that had legitimate title aspirations this season. The young star is serious about the game and reaching his potential. But as Doc Rivers said, you have to give yourself a break once in a while.
