Following the Philadelphia 76ser's disappointing first-round playoffs exit, rumors began spreading about the front office potentially blowing up the squad. This rumored shakeup included even team general manager Elton Brand, whose own job security was put into question following another early vacation for the Sixers.

As it turns out, however, the team's ownership remains faithful to Brand. As a matter of fact, the 41-year-old is now reportedly in line for a contract extension. This report comes via Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer:

Still, he met with the team’s ownership on Monday to discuss a new contract, according to multiple sources. Sources added Brand was expecting to get a three- or four-year deal.

“The Process” may have not found success as of the moment, but the Sixers brass has not given up on this just yet. Brand has done a great job overseeing the development of this squad, and based on the report above, he will be afforded with more time.

As a matter of fact, Sixers ownership are reportedly also looking at the prospect of fortifying their front office by getting Brand some help:

Word leaked that the Sixers were intent on adding front-office talent under him. That came after multiple league sources had said the team was inquiring about the possibility of hiring a president of basketball operations.

Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey was mentioned as a potential candidate for this, but he is currently still employed. Then again, the Rockets themselves concluded their season in disappointment yet again, so Morey's current job security in Houston might just be in limbo.
