The Philadelphia 76ers are handling the James Harden-shaped hole in the middle of their system. It was once a question about whether Tyrese Maxey or Tobias Harris could take up the role of secondary star in the Joel Embiid-led system. But, their game against Tyrese Haliburton's Indiana Pacers seemed to have answered that question. Maxey even notched a record not seen since Allen Iverson was still with the Sixers.

Tyrese Maxey became the second-youngest Sixers player to score 50 points, per ESPN Stats & Info. He achieved the feat at 23 years and eight days old. The only other player to have done it at a younger age is Allen Iverson. The feat was last achieved in 1997 against the Atlanta Hawks when The Answer was 21 years and 309 days old.

Tyrese Haliburton and the Pacers threw everything at him but Maxey just had the scorching hand. He was given the opportunity to play 39 minutes in the game for the Sixers. It is safe to say that he made the most out of it. The buckets along with five dimes proved to be a scary threat on the offensive end. Cleaning up the boards seven times despite his size was also an impressive feat.

Joel Embiid also followed suit in the scoring outburst. He knocked down buckets which led to 37 points along with 13 rebounds. His playmaking chops were also on show with seven dimes. Tobias Harris' 18 points also allowed for a more dominant Sixers victory. James Harden may be gone but this Sixers squad is flourishing atop the league standings.
