The Philadelphia 76ers are hosting the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight at the Wells Fargo Center in a battle of two likely playoff newbies.
While most eyes are trained on the gargantuan matchup between All-Stars Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns, one other young up-and-comer stole the show with his crafty, video-game like play — Ben Simmons.
The Rookie of the Year favorite brought the ball down the floor in transition and upon moving past the midcourt line, he zipped a long bounce pass amid a pack of Timberwolves that found a cutting teammate in Dario Saric underneath.
Saric missed the reverse layup, although he was able to fish a foul from Taj Gibson. But that won't take away the spotlight and attention that Simmons' amazing pass rightfully deserves. Watch the actual clip below:

Such has been the story of Simmons' first year playing among the grown-ups. When he's not recording triple-doubles or making NBA history with his statistical accomplishments, the young point-forward hands out dimes such as these, bringing excitement back to a Sixers team that has been dormant over the past few years while trusting the process.
On the season, Simmons is averaging 16.0 points, 7.9 rebounds, 7.9 assists, and 1.7 steals per contest for Philadelphia. Simmons and Joel Embiid have made the team's future look bright and they could very well be enough to attract a big-name free agent in the summer to the City of Brotherly Love.
The Sixers are currently owners of the Eastern Conference's fourth seed with the third spot, currently held by the Cleveland Cavaliers, very much within reach.
