Heading into the WNBA season, the biggest story surrounding the Chicago Sky was their incoming rookies. Making the most of their first-round selections, the team took Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese as the third and seventh overall picks, respectively. Now, it looks like both women are getting accustomed to the Windy City. Cardoso and Reese were recently spotted at the Chicago Cubs' Tuesday game against the Atlanta Braves. In fact, they even took the time to get acquainted with starting pitcher Shota Imanaga.

This drew a variety of hilarious reactions, as seen below.

For Chicago sports fans, it's a good sight to see the city's athletes supporting each other, especially when they're new to the community. After all, why not get involved in a historically rich sporting culture? The Windy City is known for having championship-winning franchises. This is headlined by the NBA's Bulls and the NHL's Blackhawks, who both have six titles each. Follow that up with the Cubs and the White Sox, who boast three World Series victories (apiece). Furthermore, the NFL's Bears, the MLS' Fire FC and of course, the Sky, have one championship each.

Cardoso and Reese surely want to add more to the Sky's tally. The team won their inaugural title three years ago, when they were led by three-time All-Star Kahleah Copper and the legendary Candace Parker. The Sky have continued to be a playoff contender, but they haven't appeared in the finals ever since. Last season, Chicago finished with an 18-22 record, bowing out in the first round of the postseason.

The Chicago Sky's newest additions

With Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese coming in, the team just got themselves a bolstered frontline. Cardoso is currently sidelined with an injury that she suffered during the preseason. Still, what she's shown in college was nothing short of dominant. Cardoso averaged 14.4 points and 9.7 rebounds during her senior year. Largely due to the Brazilian's presence in the paint, South Carolina was the third-highest rebounding team in the NCAA last season (46.3 RPG). Additionally, Cardoso led the Gamecocks to their most recent National Championship.

As for Reese, she's also coming off a strong season with LSU. The Tigers may have fallen during the Elite Eight, but Reese's numbers don't lie. Throughout her final collegiate year, the forward averaged a double-double of 18.6 points and 13.4 boards.

Reese has been performing well as a WNBA rookie, putting up 11.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in two games with the Sky.

Right now, Chicago is 1-1. They lost their season opener, but bounced back with a nine-point win last Saturday. Both games have been against the Dallas Wings. Moving forward, the team will be facing a tough task in Breanna Stewart and the undefeated New York Liberty on Thursday. They'll still be without Cardoso, but the center is expected to return next month.
