The Chicago Sky control their own destiny when it comes to making the playoffs. They are currently in the eighth and final playoff spot with two games remaining on their schedule. As of publication, they are currently up at the half against the Minnesota Lynx. If they win, they're in. If they lose, they need to win against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday to make the playoffs. Two losses and they're out. Starting guard Marina Mabrey has been doing her part to make sure the Sky make the playoffs. On Friday, Mabrey set a franchise record for most made three point shots in a single season.

Marina Mabrey has hit 81 three-point shots for the Sky this season, and counting. She still has the second half against the Lynx and the game against the Sun on Sunday to increase that total. The previous Sky record for most three-point shots made in a single season was 80 by Allie Quigley during the 2019 season. Quigley shot 44.2 percent from three-point range that season. In comparison, Mabrey is shooting 37.9 percent from the three point line this season.

This is Mabrey's first season with the Sky after arriving in a sign and trade deal in the offseason. She's started all 37 games she's played in at a little less than 30 minutes per game. She's been averaging a career-high 14.9 points per game, 3.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists with splits of 41.2 percent shooting from the field, 37.9 percent shooting from the three point line and 83 percent shooting from the free throw line.
