Al Nassr defender Ghislain Konan is set to leave the club and join rivals Al Fayha. The 27-year-old has been one of the main assets of Cristiano Ronaldo's team, but Al Nassr have decided to let him go due to the AFC Champions League rules.
According to the Saudi Pro League journalist Santi Aouna, Al Nassr are trying to cut down their roster of foreign players. The club has signed many foreign superstars in this window, such as Sadio Mane, Alex Telles, Marcelo Brozovic, and Aymeric Laporte. There were initial reports that Anderson Talisca would become the casualty from the Al Nassr squad, but he has denied the reports in a statement on X.
He tweeted, “You Al Nassr fans, you who love this club, stop supporting it, fake news. I renewed until the 26th (2026). There's no reason for me to leave the club, I'm not negotiating with anyone. The club has no intention of leaving me because there's no reason.”

According to the AFC Champions League rules, a Saudi Pro League team can only have six foreign players in the team and one of them must be Asian. Due to the presence of Alex Telles at left-back, Konan's spot in the squad is under threat. The 27-year-old has shared the pitch 22 times with Cristiano Ronaldo in Al Nassr colors.
