Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah has bluntly refuted the possibility of joining Xavi Hernandez at Barcelona.
One of the biggest challenges Liverpool has been facing thus far is the contract renewal of Mohamed Salah, and a wide array of big-name clubs are now being linked to his name, including Barcelona. However, the Egyptian insisted that he wants to stay at Anfield.
“I read what was said about Xavi’s interest to sign me,” Salah said via Goal. “This is something that makes me happy that a team like Barcelona is interested in me, but I’m happy in Liverpool and we will see what happens in the future.”
“At the moment, I prefer to stay in the Premier League as it’s the strongest league in the world,” he continued.
As it stands, nothing is concrete yet between Liverpool and Salah apart from the confirmation from Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.

“We’re talking and extending a contract with a player like Mo is not something where you meet for a cup of tea in the afternoon and find an agreement,” the Liverpool boss said. “That’s completely normal.”
“There’s really nothing else to say about Mo. He speaks about it and I can only say a few things because all the rest is not for the public, obviously.”
Barcelona, on the other hand, is still in the process of rebuilding with club manager Xavi Hernandez believed to be actively involved in the recruitment.
