The New York Jets aren’t off to a good start in the 2020 season.

After suffering double digit losses to the Buffalo Bills and the San Francisco 49ers in their first two games, they are facing the Indianapolis Colts in their Week 3 match on Sunday, and there’s a good chance that they could start the season at 0-3.

The Jets have dealt with injuries to some of their key players to start the season, with wide receiver Jamison Crowder and center Connor McGovern likely to miss the game against the Colts. But some of the team’s supporters have head coach Adam Gase to blame for the team’s slow start and want him fired. A “Fire Adam Gase Protest” was organized this after at the team’s practice facilities at Florham Park, New Jersey to call for the team’s mentor to be fired.

The problem was, not a lot of people showed up for it. And naturally, social media had its takes on the protest, which was covered by several reporters. Connor Hughes of The Athletic tweeted a picture of a couple of Jets fans, which didn’t look like much of a protest. A few more Jets fans showed up later on, but were forced to leave by security (it was private property).

The replies to Hughes’ tweet are varied, with some laughing at the protestors and others cheering them on. There are also those who questioned why the protest was held on a Thursday afternoon. Andy Vazquez of USA Today, meanwhile, showed a few more protestors calling for Gase to be fired, with one issuing a challenge to Jets CEO Christopher Johnson.

The 42-year-old Gase was brought on board as the Jets' coach last season, and guided the team to a 7-9 record, with the team missing the playoffs for the ninth straight season since reaching the AFC Championship Game in 2010. However, two losses to open the new season brings his overall record with the team to 7-11.
