San Antonio Spurs rookie Lonnie Walker IV is known as a solid athlete, to be sure. However, what you might not know about the former McDonald's All-American is that he's a fan of the Star Wars series. In fact, he recently posted an image on his Twitter account portraying himself as a young Jedi. Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is also featured in the image as Obi-Wan Kenobi — the legendary Jedi Master.

The Spurs selected Walker, now 19 years of age, with the 18th overall pick in this year's Draft. He was officially signed on July 11, 2018, after a stint with the team's Summer League squad.

Without a doubt, the Spurs are excited to have Walker on-board. The 6-5 shooting guard played just one season with The University of Miami, where he racked up averages of 11.5 points on 41.5 percent shooting from the field (34.6 percent from beyond the arc), 2.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and just under one steal (0.9) in 27.8 minutes per outing.

Though he's made it to the NBA, Walker has not forgotten about his hometown. According to a report from Mike Drago of the Reading Eagle, Walker and Adidas executive Eric Wise recently delivered 300 pairs of basketball shoes to the Blacktop Basketball League in Reading, Pennsylvania.

“All the kids are inspired by Lonnie's story,” Blacktop board member Wynton Butler told the Reading Eagle. “It's great that they have somebody they have seen, they have touched, and they have felt make it like this.”
