Rudy Gay has an $8.8 million player option for the 2018-2019 season. For all its worth, the 31-year-old is taking his time on whether or not to accept it or not.

According to Alex Kennedy of Hoops Hype, Gay expressed that he has not given thought to it. Instead, Gay said that he's preparing to go on vacation:

No. Right now, I’m just watching these playoff games and enjoying it. When that time comes, I have enough people around me to help with that decision. Right now, I’m getting ready to go on vacation, man. I haven’t been on a vacation in years!

Gay was acquired by the Spurs in the offseason last year. He missed several games due to a heel injury. In 57 games, he averaged 11.5 points per game, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

The former eighth overall pick also shared that he did not feel like himself most of the year due to the injury. While he's still unsure whether or not he'll take the player option, Gay said that he'll definitely go back to the gym after his vacation:

The biggest thing for me this summer is just getting back to being me. I didn’t feel like myself for most of the year. I was always taught that when you don’t feel right or your game is off, you can still hustle and play hard, so I always did that. But as far as my basketball game, that’s something I need to get back – just being myself.
