Square Enix officially announced an upcoming special reveal for the next game in the Life is Strange franchise. The unnamed sequel serves as the centerpiece for a special showcase live stream event next week. Additionally, the event features several other games like Outriders, Marvel's Avengers, and Balan Wonderland. The most recent iteration of Life is Strange wrapped up in December 2019 but apparently, its developers weren't quite done making fantastical stories. The special live stream event takes place on March 18.
LIFE IS STRANGE CONTINUES
The official Life is Strange Twitter confirmed the upcoming event and the world premiere for the game's sequel. Square Enix kept info on the new game under tight wrap except for the fact that it features a new cast of characters, a brand new supernatural power, and an all-new story.
The Life is Strange franchise features games following the vein of Telltale Games titles. Players navigate through an episodic slice of life story tinged with a dash of supernatural powers. Difficult choices remain the key factor of the series with several dilemmas popping up in-between episodes to keep the story alive and engaging. The series' unique brand of emotional storytelling captured the heart of millions of players around the world. Undoubtedly, they will all be tuning in to the world premiere Life is Strange 3, or whatever title they will finalize by next week.
Square Enix also promised a special presentation involving the Tomb Raider franchise. There were no definitive details regarding which game will be featured but many guess it will involve the leaked Tomb Raider Remake Trilogy collection. The franchise is currently celebrating its ongoing 25th anniversary. We'll know more hopefully during the stream.
Additionally, Square Enix promised to feature multiple projects from its Montreal studio. The stream event takes place on March 18, 2021, at 10 PM PDT/5 PM GMT.
