For Baltimore Ravens cornerback Arthur Maulet, the upcoming games this season versus the Pittsburgh Steelers are even more personal than the vicious division rivalry the two teams already have.
After the Steelers cut Maulet earlier this offseason, he's ready to face off versus his old team. “It's circled on my calendar for sure,” Maulet said via Clifton Brown of the Baltimore Ravens official website.
Following the Steelers releasing him in May, Maulet signed with the Ravens in July. He reflected on his decision to join the Ravens saying, “I'm a vet, year No. 7. I just wanted a little something, a little security. I think I earned that. Baltimore gave me that, which was surprising that it was a rivalry team. Obviously, they believe in me. That just makes me feel good about the work I put in this offseason.”

With cornerback Marlon Humphrey expected to miss time after undergoing surgery on his foot, Maulet should get the chance for extra playing time early on this season.
“I think I'm going to be based more in the nickel, in the inside. That's where I make my money. I'm ready to go Week 1. I'm just grateful for them to honestly believe in my talents and the way I play. I learned the playbook pretty fast. I'm a downhill guy, aggressive nickel back. I think I fit the scheme perfectly.”
