Entering college at the same time as Kevin Durant, a young Stephen Curry already knew the then-Texas forward was one of the best players in their class. Curry admitted that because of all the hype that surrounded the eight-time All-Star forward then, it made the former Davidson Wildcat understand that if he wanted to be a highly touted NBA prospect, he needed to play close to Durant's level.

Now that they are teammates with the Golden State Warriors, the reigning back-to-back MVP revealed that he was chasing Durant's numbers back then. He added that it helped him reach his full potential during his NCAA days, and also credited Durant for exceeding the lofty expectations placed on his shoulders after being drafted.

As it turned out, both Curry and Durant have been named MVPs and are widely considered two of biggest stars in the NBA today. Curry won a championship in 2015, and Durant brought his talents to the Bay Area last summer, believing that his best chance of winning a title is by running the floor alongside Curry and the Warriors.
