Stephen A. Smith was quick to hop aboard the Jake Paul bandwagon following his one-round destruction of Ben Askren in their main event boxing bout in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday. The outspoken TV personality made a case that the YouTube star-turned boxer should be taken more seriously following yet another vicious knockout.

Jake Paul earned himself a TKO victory over the former UFC Welterweight contender in less than one round. He definitely looked like he knew what he was doing against a grizzled vet like ben Askren, especially with the way he set up his power punches in their brief match.

He landed a scary one-two combination right in Askren's jaw, which dropped the former Olympic wrestler. The match did end with a bit of controversy since Askren was able to get back on his feet before the referee's standing eight count. However, Askren was deemed no longer fit to continue and the bout was waved off.

This is Jake Paul's second consecutive highlight-reel knockout following that face-planting punch he delivered to former NBA player Nate Robinson last year. Sure, Askren is a grappler at heart and not much of a striker, but the fact that he once fought for a living is a huge feather in the cap of Paul.

Paul, now 3-0, does need to face a legitimate boxer next time around, as Stephen A. Smith suggests. The infamous online sensation has defeated a fellow YouTuber and two retired athletes so far. For sure, the brash Paul won't have a shortage of challengers for his next fight.

Hopefully, he fights a true boxer this time just so we can see what he's really made of.
