New Arizona Cardinals defensive end JJ Watt is already doing everything he can for the city, even trying to recruit Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns to join the city's NBA franchise, the Phoenix Suns.

With Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray tweeting out a photo of himself alongside Watt from his senior year of high school, the former Houston Texans standout took the opportunity to mention the third member of the photo in Towns.

While JJ Watt was obviously presented with a perfect opportunity from Murray, it is actually a legitimate pitch considering where the Timberwolves and the hometown Suns sit in the Western Conference standings. With the NBA trade deadline looming as well, it is entirely possible that the lowly Minnesota team ships Towns out of town to a contender such as Phoenix.

After all, there's no doubt the Suns are looking to up the ante in the coming weeks. With a tandem of All-Stars in guards Chris Paul and Devin Booker, Phoenix could potentially pair them with a player like Karl-Anthony Towns.

However, it will probably take quite the package in order to successfully lure a player like Towns away from the Timberwolves, which could give the Suns some pause before pulling the trigger.

It remains to be seen what will happen in the NBA trade deadline, but the state of Arizona and the fans of the Suns and Cardinals are certainly happy to have an athlete like Watt who is really involved with the city as early as now.
