Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker has just eclipsed Shawn Marion to claim fourth place in the team's all-time 3-pointers list.
It's an impressive feat given that Booker is just in his fifth season with the Suns. Marion, meanwhile, spent eight and a half years playing in Phoenix.
Devin Booker notched the milestone in their 121-105 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday. The 23-year-old finished with 29 points, six rebounds, and nine assists. He was 9-of-25 from the field, 2-of-7 from deep and 9-of-10 from the free-throw line.
Since entering the league in 2015 as the 13th overall pick, Booker has proven himself to be one of the most potent scorers. His scoring prowess quickly gained comparisons with the late Kobe Bryant. He holds several scoring records, such as the youngest player to score over 60 points in a game and the youngest player in NBA history with consecutive 50-point games.
Despite his stellar performances night in and night out, the Suns remain at the bottom of the Western Conference standings. As of writing, they sport a 26-39 record for 13th in the West. While they started out strong early in the campaign the Monty Williams-coached team suddenly drifted downward.
From the looks of it, the team needs a few more tweaks to complete the rebuilding process.
With 17 games left in the season, the Suns have a chance to notch 30 wins — which would be their first time churning in a 30-win season since 2014-15. While it's a small feat, it still represents a semblance of progress.
