Mikal Bridges and the Phoenix Suns have agreed on a four-year, $90 million contract extension, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Bridges has developed into one of the better 3-and-D wings in the NBA, and he played a key role on the Suns as they reached the NBA Finals last season. While Phoenix fell short against the Milwaukee Bucks, the future remains bright thanks in part to Bridges' status as a member of the core.

Bridges starred at Villanova before going 10th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft. He was actually drafted by his hometown Philadelphia 76ers but traded to Phoenix. The 25-year-old has been a mainstay in the Suns' rotation ever since he came into the NBA.

This past season, Bridges averaged 13.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 54.3% from the field and 42.5% from 3-point range. In the playoffs, he averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting 48.4% overall and 36.8% from 3-point range.

With Bridges now secured for the long haul, all eyes are on Deandre Ayton. The Suns' star big man wants a max extension, but the franchise is reportedly hesitant to give him on. He recently expressed his frustration over the matter, so we'll see how it plays out for Ayton and Phoenix.
