The Phoenix Suns were one of the hottest teams in the NBA bubble last season. They went 9-0 in their seeding games. Though this late run still wasn't enough to boost the Suns all the way to a playoff berth, it was definitely a sign of positive things to come in Arizona. Chris Paul, the newest addition to the Suns roster, finally got a closer look at this surging Phoenix roster when he finally joined his new team for their training camp this week.

“I’m getting a chance to see first hand why they were so good in the bubble and the jump that they made from the season to the bubble,” Paul said (via arizonasports.com). “I think that’s what’s been really cool to see — to see Cam Johnson, to know Jevon Carter before I got here. Just to see how many hungry guys we got. I talk about E’Twaun Moore and Langston Galloway a lot because I played against them for years — to see, like I know they can hoop, but to see what type of guys they are in the locker room already is gonna be big for our team.”

The task of joining a new squad isn't always easy but a veteran like Paul has proven throughout his career that he knows how to handle these types of situation. Last season in his lone year with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the 10-time All-Star led a young Thunder team all the way to the playoffs with little expectation. He's hoping to do the same for the Suns this season.

“The camaraderie that we sort of built already,” he added. “Through team group texts … our team seems like we’ve been together for a while just because we got guys that want to compete, want to work hard but you can tell everyone enjoys being in the gym.”

Paul and Devin Booker will look to build on what they have right now in Phoenix and to prove that their magnificent run in the bubble was definitely no fluke.
