For some odd reason, Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker still does not get the respect that he deserves. For one, some fans and pundits continue to question if he is indeed a true superstar despite leading his team to a 31-14 record this season, good for second place in the loaded Western Conference.

The criticism toward Booker only grew louder in the last couple of days after the usually efficient scorer has figured in a couple of rough shooting nights. One Twitter user, however, pointed out a significant statistic that proves Book is indeed a primetime player in this league.

Wow. Damian Lillard and Kawhi Leonard are two of the best players in the league right now, making Booker's feat even more impressive. Plus, they've been around longer than the 24-year-old Suns sharpshooter, so there's that.

Devin Booker has indeed struggled in the last couple of games for the Suns, particularly in the fourth quarter. A few bad games and people are quick to forget that he is one of the most clutch players today, as evidenced by his breakout performance inside the bubble last season.

The two-time All-Star heard all those rumblings and came out with a bounce-back performance in the Suns' 101-87 overtime win against the Charlotte Hornets at Spectrum Center on Sunday. Booker's struggles from the field did continue, making just 10-of-26 from the field and 4-for-11 from downtown, but he did finish with a game-best 35 points along with six boards, three assists, and two steals in 42 minutes. He outdueled Hornets' guard Devonte' Graham who put up 30 points in the losing effort.

After the game, Booker acknowledged he has to get better in close-out situations to have a chance to contend for the title come playoff time.

“If we want to go where we want to go, we have to clean up some late-game situations,” Booker said, per Gerald Bourguet of Fan Sided.
