NBA Opening Night continues with another highly-anticipated matchup between the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors. It's time to continue our NBA odds series with a Suns-Warriors prediction and pick.

The Phoenix Suns are going to look different this season but they have one of the more talented rosters in the NBA as of now. In comes Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic and out goes DeAndre Ayton. The Suns Big 3 is a nightmare for opposing defenses to handle. Beal, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker all have range and can kill you anywhere on the court. Health will be the biggest concern, however, as all three have dealt with nagging injuries in the past. A healthy Suns team will contend for the NBA Finals this season.

The Warriors are aiming to find themselves back into the Finals conversation once again. Chris Paul joins the Splash Brothers and Draymond Green for a chance to win his first ring. CP3 is one of the greatest players of all time without a championship and he joins an organization that will certainly give him a shot. Having him alongside Steph Curry will be strange at first, but I assure you they will play well off one another. Out goes Jordan Poole and the drama with Draymond and now the Warriors can regain focus. As long as Curry is dominating the league you can't count this team out.

Why The Suns Could Cover The Spread

Bradley Beal's debut in a Suns uniform will be exciting to watch. However, that will likely not happen tonight. Reports have said that Beal will miss tonight's game with a back injury. He is still listed as questionable, so there is a shot he plays. The season is long and the decision may be to just let him rest. Either way, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker are ready to start the season strong. KD averaged 17 points during the preseason and is showing no signs of slowing down. Booker averaged 16.3 in one less contest, but both shot over 50% in those games. If they are on their game then the Suns should be in this game until the end.

The key in this game will be to contain Curry and Thompson from getting into a rhythm from deep. That is no easy task but the Suns need to try and knock them off their game. They are short-handed offensively but Grayson Allen and Eric Gordon can fill in the void of missing Beal if needed. Furthermore, the Suns need to show up on defense to keep them in this contest.

Yuta Watanabe could be a big factor in this game as well. The new addition averaged 10.3 points per game and shot 50% from the floor in four preseason contests.

Why The Warriors Could Cover The Spread

The Warriors have a very talented roster. It may take some time for CP3 to get situated but his addition to the team could be great for them. His ability to run and offense can take a lot of weight off Curry's shoulders as both of them are getting older. We will now see Curry play off-ball a lot more which could be a scary thing for opposing teams. Andrew Wiggins may have to take a step back offensively, but his defense is the real reason they love him in The Bay. His presence on the court is crucial and you saw that last season when the Warriors struggled without him during that late stretch.

Jonathan Kuminga shined very bright during the preseason. In five games, he averaged 21.8 points per game which was the second highest in the league behind Desmond Bane with 22. Kuminga shot 55% from the floor and also had 5.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. He has certainly earned himself more minutes this year and he could become a big part of their success. I expect him to play well tonight giving the Dubs a shot at covering this spread at home.

Final Suns-Warriors Prediction & Pick

The emotions will be high tonight as Durant plays against his former team where he won two NBA Finals. KD and Booker will play very well but I don't expect it to be enough to cover this spread on the road. The Warriors should take this game with a decent margin to kickstart the season. This has the chance of being a very high-scoring game.

Final Suns-Warriors Prediction & Pick: Warriors -2 (-112); Over 235 (-110)
