Super Nintendo Switch Pro Release Date: September-October 2021

According to the Bloomberg report, the new Switch Pro console will come out sometime between September and October 2021. Nintendo's calendar for the next few months will be really tight. Their plans have a high risk of being derailed thanks to the rising labor costs in China, as well as the international shortage of microchips. However, suppliers feel confident that they will be able to supply the needs of Nintendo to allow for a Holiday 2021 release.

Bloomberg reports that Nintendo will announce the Nintendo Switch Pro ahead of the E3 2021 presentation so that publishers will be able to showcase their upcoming games for the new console at E3. Production of the console will then start in July, with the expectation that the units will ship and be available for sale by September 2021 at the earliest. Production will ramp up during Q4 2021 to anticipate the high demand for the console during the Holiday season.

The Nintendo Switch Pro will have a slight edge over the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S because it's the newest console on the block. However, since both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S continue experiencing shortages, demand for both consoles will remain high this December. It'll be interesting to see how the console wars will be like this Holiday season.
