New on-set photos of David Corenswet's DCU Superman and Edi Gathegi's Mister Terrific were just posted on Cleveland.com's X (formerly Twitter) account.

It was only a little over a month ago that DCU co-CEO James Gunn revealed the new Superman suit on Threads. However, in the photo he shared, David Corenswet was seated, pulling up his red boots, and the suit looked a lot like Henry Cavill's suit. The new photos now reveal that the while the suit shared a similar texture to Cavill's, it's definitely a throwback to the classic Superman suit with the iconic red trunks.

We also get a look at Gathegi's Mister Terrific costume, black with white accent and red piping, with the word FAIR PLAY emblazoned in red on both sleeves, plus a black mask that extends from his eyes to his nose.

Meet the classic Superman look and the new Mister Terrific

The only Superman poster we can see from the IMDb page is the one with its release date, July 11, 2025. According to the brief movie synopsis released in December, the movie will focus “on Superman balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way. He is kindness in a world that thinks that kindness is old-fashioned.”

In interviews, Gunn said that the film will not be a comedy and neither will it be an origin story since most of the world grew up with Superman, knowing exactly where he's from. Other than these details, not much is known.

A Legacy cast

With the announcement of Milly Alcock as the new Supergirl, who will also appear in the movie — with her own feature film on the way — early casting also included Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

Joining them are Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason/Metamorpho and María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica/The Engineer.

The DCU's Superman will be Mister Terrific's first feature film outing. Outside his superhero persona, he's Dr. Michael Holt, who has “a natural aptitude for having natural aptitudes” in picking up and retaining complex skills.

By the time he becomes Mister Terrific, he already has 14 post-graduate degrees (including two in engineering and physics). He owned the high-tech firm Cyberwear (which he eventually sells to Bruce Wayne's Waynetech) and is a Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete.

Holt is the second character to wear the Mister Terrific mantle. The first one was Terry Sloane. Holt became a superhero after the loss of his wife and unborn child, eventually serving as the hairman of the Justice Society of America. His T-shaped mask is composed of nanites. He has met Sloane through time travel, with the latter telling him that he was a worthy successor.

Through his mask, he can instantaneously change into his costume and out of it. The mask also works with his earpiece as a communication system with his T-spheres, floating robotic spheres which can also be used as a holographic projection when he is injured or unable to speak.

The T-sphere also allow him to fly by carrying his weight and also function as weapons, responding to his mental and vocal commands. The mask also renders him invisible to almost all of forms of electronic detection, with the exception of infrared and sonar.

Superman is set to hit theaters July 11, 2025.
