In the annual HBCU football All-Star game known as the HBCU Pigskin Showdown, Team Godfather emerged victorious with a 21-15 win against Team Gunslinger.

The HBCU Pigskin Showdown is a prestigious All-Star football game designed to provide draft-eligible football players from HBCUs with an exceptional opportunity to showcase their talents to decision-makers from professional football teams.

This highly anticipated event serves as a platform for top performers across the HBCU football landscape to demonstrate their skills to NFL and other professional football recruiters. The game, which was streamed on the HBCU Digital Network, took place on December 30th in Mobile, Alabama.

The game is one of many postseason HBCU football exhibitions with the aim of promoting HBCU prospects and their respective talents with the aim of them getting an opportunity to play in the NFL or other professional football leagues such as the UFL and CFL.

Aaron Allen, Alcorn State's quarterback, led Team Godfather to their victory. He eventually won the Pigskin Showdown MVP award. Allen threw a 60-yard touchdown bomb to help seal the victory. His receiver, Terrell Gardner of Alabama A&M, won the Offensive MVP. On the other end, Graderius Brown, a defensive back from Miles College, won the Defensive MVP. Delaware State's kicker Jonathan Cardoza was awarded with the Special Teams MVP trophy.
