Clark Atlanta University has announced the hiring Teddy Keaton as their next football coach. The university announced the hire via its website and social media accounts. With the hire, Keaton will be leaving his position as Allen University’s head football coach.

Dr. George T. French, President of Clark Atlanta said of the hire, “We are thrilled to have Coach Teddy Keaton join Clark Atlanta University as the new head coach of the Panthers football program. His experience and success in the SIAC make him an ideal fit for our university. We are confident that Coach Keaton’s leadership will take the Panthers to new heights. We are excited for the future of our football program under his guidance,”

Clark Atlanta Athletic Director Dr. Jerel Drew also spoke highly of the hire of Keaton, saying, “We are delighted to welcome Coach Teddy Keaton to the Clark Atlanta University family. His impressive coaching background and commitment to excellence align seamlessly with our vision for the Panthers football program. We look forward to an exciting era of success under his leadership.”

Keaton comes into the position at Clark Atlanta with a highly successful track record as Allen University’s head coach. He served as coach of the Allen Yellow Jackets from 2018-2023, helping them in their transition to the SIAC after not fielding a football team for decades.

The Yellow Jackets finished the year with a 7-3 record and he coached the SIAC Offensive Player of the Year David Wright, who led a high-powered offensive attack that often overwhelmed opposing teams.

Keaton now brings his air raid offensive style to a Clark Atlanta program that hasn’t had a winning season since 2008 when they finished the season with a 6-5 record. They posted their best seasons in the 1970s when they went 9-1 in 1974.
