The Tennessee Volunteers take on the Texas A&M Aggies in Omaha, Nebraska. Our College World Series odds package has our Tennessee Texas A&M prediction and pick. Find out how to watch Tennessee Texas A&M.

This is the first game of the college baseball season in which the national championship could be awarded to the winning team. If the Texas A&M Aggies prevail here in Game 2 of the CWS Championship Series, they will lift the trophy and carry it home to College Station. The Aggies entered this best-of-three series with a pitching advantage, but they didn't win a pitching duel on Saturday night in Game 1. The Aggies brought their bats to the yard and won 9-5, reminding everyone that while they are built to win low-scoring games, they can win high-scoring games too and feel perfectly comfortable doing it. A&M's versatility and balance have been on display in this college baseball season, so it's no wonder that the Aggies are one win from the national title.

Tennessee will try to stay one more day in Omaha at the 2024 College World Series. If the Vols can win on Sunday, they will force a decisive winner-take-all Game 3 on Monday night. It would be back-to-back years with two SEC teams meeting in a Game 3 of the CWS Championship Series. LSU and Florida went all the way last year before LSU captured its seventh national championship.

Why Tennessee Could Cover The Spread

The Vols are a very resilient team. Losing Game 1 of this CWS Championship Series won't deter them or diminish their level of fight. Tennessee trailed Florida State 11-7 in the late innings in this College World Series but strung together four straight two-out hits in the bottom of the ninth to rally. The Vols eventually won that game 12-11 to set the table for their run to this championship series.

One week before advancing to the CWS Finals, Tennessee lost a game on its home field in the NCAA super regional against Evansville. The Vols were dragged into a decisive Game 3 and managed to win that pressure cooker. This team has been so good at bouncing back from losses. The Vols get angry, almost insulted, when they lose. They come roaring back the next day and have made a pattern of bouncing back all season long. They've come this far; why should they stop their pattern now? This is a team worth trusting in an elimination situation. It's why the oddsmakers have the Vols as a clear-cut favorite on both the money line and the run line here.

Why Texas A&M Could Cover The Spread

The Texas A&M Aggies have not yet lost a game in Omaha over the past week. They won their opener, their winners' bracket game, their first semifinal game, and Game 1 of this CWS Championship Series. They have been the most consistent team in this tournament. They did not have to rally from four runs down the way Tennessee did against Florida State. They're the best team and will show it one more time as they win the national championship … and even if they do lose, they'll lose by only one run, which will still be good enough to not only cover the spread, but cash a plus-money ticket on the run line.

Final Tennessee-Texas A&M Prediction & Pick

The Vols are great at bouncing back, but A&M is the best team. Waiting for a live play is once again our final recommendation.

Final Tennessee-Texas A&M Prediction & Pick: Tennessee -1.5
