The Houston Texans are fairly successful for a young football team, but their horrible showing against the Kansas City Chiefs begs to ask the question of whether this is still an acceptable state for the team. Some have already called out for Bill O'Brien to step down, and Deshaun Watson told frustrated Texans fans to calm down.

He was asked in the post-game presser whether O'Brien is still the right man for the job. According to The Athletic's Aaron Reiss, the pass-caller is still confident that his coach can bring the team to the Promised Land that is the Super Bowl. He calls for the fans to calm down and give the head coach more support.

It's easy to see why Watson would want to keep O'Brien around as the Texans coach. He became one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL thanks to his tutelage. The first-quarter rampage they were on was nothing short of incredible. And a wrong hire would see their momentum go the wrong way. Watson doesn't want to go through what Baker Mayfield is experiencing after a terrible year under Freddie Kitchens.

Unfortunately, O'Brien may not be long until the Texans front office fire him. He's been the team's head coach for six years now, and they haven't even edged closer to a conference final. Moreover, the disappointing manner in which they lost is going to leave a big dent on his job security.

The Texans may give the coach one more year to try and make a deep run in the playoffs. However, no one will be surprised if he was fired from the post in the offseason.
