The Houston Texans are going to continue past this season without a general manager after the Nick Caserio debacle following the New England Patriots accusing the Texans of tampering surrounding Caserio.

Many believed that that the Texans would wait until after the draft and go after Caserio, but that doesn't appear to be in the plans anymore.

Currently, Bill O'Brien and Jack Easterby are the ones who have taken over the GM role with others inside the organization dealing with the salary cap and player personal. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, that is the system the team will keep in place past this season.

The Texans have gotten a lot of heat for some of their offseason moves, but they seem to be actually paying off for the team. The team traded for Carlos Hyde in exchange for reserve offensive lineman Martinas Rankin and Hyde has been a huge boost for the team.

The team also traded two first-round draft picks for Laremy Tunsil which was heavily criticized at the time, but Tunsil has been an anchor on the offensive line, and protecting Deshaun Watson is most important for this squad.

It's unclear at some point going forward if the team will hire a general manager but at least through the next season, the plan is to go forward without one.

It will probably come down to wins and losses, but if the team continues to win, why would the team change something that has been working so well.
