The Houston Texans have their work cut out for them in finding a new GM and head coach after moving on from Bill O'Brien. While the front office begins looking for replacements at both spots, J.J. Watt believes the priority should be building around Deshaun Watson.

“Deshaun Watson‘s an incredible quarterback,” Watt said. “He’s the face of this franchise. He’s the future of this team and this city. We have to do whatever we possibly can to make sure that he’s in the best position to have success and to lead this place to success, not only this year, not only next year, but for the next 10 years. Whatever it takes to give him all the tools he needs to be successful in order to be and flourish and build into the best possible version of himself he can be, that’s what we need to do.”

Finding a franchise quarterback in the NFL is easier said than done and the Texans luckily have theirs in Watson. However, aside from Watson, Houston doesn't have much to work with in terms of future personnel.

Watt, a three-time Defensive Player of the Year, realizes how important it is to give Watson the best chance to succeed. And with Watt having a respected voice within the Houston community, the Texans should listen to what he says the team should do at head coach and GM.

In all likeliness, Houston will look to hire an offensive-minded coach that can help Watson take his game to another level. At the same time, the Texans would love to bring in a GM that is able to improve the roster around the talented signal-caller despite the dire cap situation they face.
