The Houston Texans won an AFC South division title and notably returned to the postseason as a result of the 2018 campaign. The up-and-coming franchise also has more than a few cornerstones both on offense and defense as the team's future continues to look brighter and brighter.

So what's the problem?

Well, apparently such an upswing isn't enough to propel Houston to become one of the better football cities from around the NFL. Actually, the exact opposite is now reportedly true, according to the NFL on FOX, as the outlet has named Houston as the worst city to be an NFL fan in.

With the AFC South snagging the first three spots on this list, the Texans are followed by the second-ranked Jacksonville Jaguars and third-ranked Tennessee Titans, who previously played in Houston before moving to Nashville just over 20 years ago. Rounding out the bottom five are the Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Despite the Texans currently employing defensive end J.J. Watt, quarterback Deshaun Watson and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, the city of Houston was unable to garner any praise whatsoever from the NFL on FOX team. Perhaps the most surprising portion of this news is that the lowest-ranked team on the list hails from the state of Texas, where both high school and college football reign supreme.

The Texans remain primed to continue the team's rise come 2019-20. With the majority of the team's young core slated to remain intact for the foreseeable future, maybe the city of Houston can garner some love come next year.
