Greg Daniels' upcoming The Office spin-off series starring Domhnall Gleeson (Ex Machina) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) has a title: The Paper.

Thanks to a listing in the WGA (Writers Guild of America) directory, The Paper was revealed as the title of Daniels' upcoming series. He is credited as an Executive Producer and Showrunner of The Paper.

The Paper is an upcoming Peacock series that is set in the same universe as The Office, which Daniels adapted for the United States. It will depict the daily lives of volunteer workers at a small-town newspaper.

Greg Daniels is developing the series along with Michael Koman. Other executive producers include Howard Klein and Ben Silverman. The duo of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, who created the original UK series, The Office, will also executive produce.

Who are Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore?

Domhnall Gleeson will lead the new series. He is an award-winning actor known for his roles in Ex Machina and Never Let Me Go. Gleeson first gained notoriety for his performance in Broadway's The Lieutenant of Inishmore.

On the big screen, Gleeson had roles in Never Let Me Go, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1 (and Part 2), True Grit, Calvary, Unbroken, Brooklyn, and The Revenant. Gleeson also starred in the Star Wars sequel trilogy as General Armitage Hux.

Since landing his Star Wars role, Gleeson has starred in American Made, Mother!, The Kitchen, and the live-action Peter Rabbit movies. On the small screen, Gleeson has starred in episodes of Black Mirror, Star Wars Resistance, Run, and Alice and Jack.

Sabrina Impacciatore is fresh off of an Emmy-nominated performance in The White Lotus. She starred in the second season of the HBO series as Valentina, the Sicily location's manager.

Her other notable credits include The Passion of the Christ, Napoleon and Me, 18 Years Later, and the Italian dub of Turning Red.

What is The Office?

Greg Daniels' The Office is an American adaptation of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's BBC series of the same name. The US series depicted the daily lives of workers in an office. They work at the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

Steve Carell led the first seven seasons of the NBC sitcom as Michael Scott, the branch's manager. The ensemble also featured Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Mindy Kaling, and B. J. Novak. Other names in the cast include Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nunez, Phyllis Smith, and Ed Helms.

The Office ran from March 2005 until May 2013. Since it concluded, the stars of the series have gone on to do big things. A continuation of any kind with the original cast has not been made at this point.

Perhaps a spin-off such as The Paper was the most seamless way to continue The Office's legacy. It remains to be seen if any of the OG cast members will pop up in The Paper. Given that it takes place in a new setting and focuses on a new company, it seems unlikely. But in this day and age, never say never.
