It's Pride Month, and it's a time for celebration for the LGBTQ+ community. Pride Month isn't something that only the LGBTQ+ community celebrates, though. Allies are also encouraged to celebrate it to show their support and solidarity with the marginalized and often discriminated community. Brands and companies show their solidarity, too, though some may be perceived to be more sincere than others. Esports personality Duncan “Thorin” Shields isn't afraid to call out those he perceives to be insincere.

Thorin retweeted a post by the T1 organization on Twitter, calling out the organization. “No Tweet in Korean? :>,” Thorin slyly asks.

T1's tweet reveals a rainbow-colored T1 logo, with a solidarity statement meant to show their unity with the community. However, T1 being a Korean organization was called out for its inconsistent application. Where's the tweet in Korean, people ask in replies to T1's post. Korea has often been criticized for being traditionally patriarchal and homophobic. In November, amidst rumors that T1 will sign Nick ‘LS’ DeCesare as a coach, T1 LoL‘s Discord server faced scrutiny for unmoderated homophobic comments towards LS in their chat.

T1's League of Legends account (which has a mostly Korean audience and staff) can also be observed not having the Rainbow-colored logo.

It's worth noting that T1 isn't alone in the seemingly disjointed effort to celebrate Pride Month. It just so happens that Thorin has his eyes on them. A fan replied to Thorin's tweet, this time calling out Bethesda, publishers of Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. Thorin gladly retweeted the fan's tweet.

Aside from T1, Bethesda, and outside of the esports industry, this practice is commonplace, especially for issues as sensitive and divisive as Pride Month.
