With Russell Westbrook set to make his debut for his new team, the Houston Rockets, it appears that at least one of his former teammates from the Oklahoma City Thunder is very much looking forward to the first matchup against their former cornerstone superstar.

For his part, Thunder wing Andre Roberson admitted he is excited about the prospect of facing off against Westrbook, and he is looking forward to testing his defensive abilities on his former longtime teammate:

Now entering his seventh season in the NBA, Roberson has spent his entire career with OKC. It was actually the Minnesota Timberwolves that drafted him back in 2013, but he ended up with the Thunder following a series of draft day trades.

Roberson has spent his entire NBA career playing alongside Westbrook, who himself spent 11 years with the Thunder before being traded to the Rockets this summer. During their six seasons together as teammates, it is without question that these two formed quite a bond both on and off the court, and much like Roberson, we're pretty sure Westbrook himself is also looking forward to his return to his old stomping grounds.

Roberson missed the entirety of the 2018-19 campaign as he continued his recovery from a devastating left knee injury. He suffered several setbacks last term, which ultimately resulted in being shut down for the whole year. According to recent reports, however, Roberson appears to now be fully recovered and is expected to be a “full go” for the start of OKC's training camp.
