Lu Dort is known for his stifling defense for the Oklahoma City Thunder and he displayed that on Wednesday night against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. When speaking about a late-game stop on James, Dort shared his short reaction to guarding James in overtime, via Brandon Rahbar of the Daily Thunder.

At one point during the thrilling overtime game on Wednesday, James had possession of the ball with fewer than 30 seconds remaining. James was guarded by Dort, who did everything he could to prevent James from getting an easy basket to extend Los Angeles' lead to three points.
Dort managed to force James to take a 3-pointer with eight seconds remaining in the game, which completely missed the rim. Despite Dort's efforts on the defensive end, the Thunder fell prey to the Lakers in a narrow 114-113 loss.
Besides Dort, Al Horford discussed Dort's impressive defense on James late in the game.

Al Horford on Lu Dort's defense on LeBron: "Lu, it doesnt matter what player he's defending, he takes the challenge. He's as good as anyone I've seen defend LeBron."

What sent the game into overtime was a clutch three-point shot by James as time was winding down in the fourth quarter. The Thunder had an opportunity to win the game as Dort took a 3-point on the final possession. After missing all five of his three-point attempts on Wednesday night, Dort shared why he's confident that he'll find his shot again soon.
Lu Dort says his 3s are going to start falling again: "I know my teammates are confident in me, so I'm going to keep taking them."
Dort on where he gets his confidence: "I worked hard to be in the position I am today. I feel like I belong in this league."

With Oklahoma City undergoing a rebuild, the Thunder are trying to find young players that could be cornerstones of their roster moving forward. Given his tantalizing defense on James and other stars in the league, Dort appears to be one of those cornerstone pieces for the Thunder.
