The Oklahoma City Thunder are coming off perhaps one of the most controversial games in the 2017-18 NBA season. Despite the ending, the Thunder's showdown with the Milwaukee Bucks also proved to be quite entertaining.

Among all the notable highlights was the posterization of Bucks center Thon Maker by Thunder superstar point guard Russell Westbrook. While his slam has already become an early dunk of the year candidate, Westbrook downplayed it as part of his job according to Fred Katz of the Norman Transcript:

“Nothing. I do that. That’s what I do.”

While Westbrook might have played it off like just another day in the office, it is clear that the play he made is not something people see every day. With the third quarter coming to a close, he managed to take the ball off of two dribbles to soar over the 7-foot Maker.

It was just what Oklahoma City needed at the time as they managed to fight back and take the lead. Unfortunately, the controversial ending spoiled what may have been the most vicious slam of the year.

It is no secret that Westbrook is regarded as perhaps the most explosive player in the league after finishing with 40 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists. Plays like this are just another reminder why.
