Former NBA player Channing Frye believes that the Oklahoma City Thunder will eventually make a big move that would put them in strong contention in the Western Conference.
Frye said on Twitter that he expects the Thunder to enter into deals that would make them a top four team in the Western Conference. He predicted that such move will happen before December. The Western Conference is considered an open race now that the Warriors lost Kevin Durant to the Brooklyn Nets.
The Thunder finished sixth in the Western Conference last season with a 49-33 record. They suffered a first-round exit at the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers in just five games.
Oklahoma City will continue to build their team around Russell Westbrook and Paul George, who is coming off his best season in the NBA. George averaged 28.0 points to go along with 8.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game, which were enough for him to be named as one of the three finalists for the 2019 Most Valuable Player award race.
The Thunder has made minor moves to improve their bench depth, signing free agents Mike Muscala and Alec Burke. Jake Fischer of Sports Illustrated previously reported that the Thunder are also open to trading Steven Adams, Andre Roberson, and Dennis Schroeder this offseason.
