The matchup between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors on Tuesday was a highly-anticipated one as it features some of the biggest stars in the league today. With Carmelo Anthony forced to exit the game early after tweaking his ankle, Paul George and Russell Westbrook knew that they had their work cut out for them, as they need to step up their games further without the other member of their “Big 3.”

Both Westbrook and George did not disappoint as they had scintillating performances on the night. George even threw down a vicious poster slam on Zaza Pachulia, who tried to stop him from attacking the basket hard during the third quarter.

The five-time All-Star top-scored for the visiting team and finished the game with 38 points, five rebounds, three assists, and six steals, while Westbrook narrowly missed a triple-double with 34 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists to lift the Thunder past the Warriors in convincing fashion 125-105.

The win snapped a four-game slide for them and it got the Thunder back to their winning ways. They also improved their record to 30-24 for the season and remain in fifth place in the Western Conference.

The Warriors lost for only the 12th time this season in 53 outings and still maintain a game and a half lead over the Houston Rockets for the top spot in the West and overall. Kevin Durant paced them with 33 points, but only him, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson finished in double-digit scoring on the night, as they recorded 21 and 12 points, respectively.
