Tiger Woods pays respect to Phil Mickelson after PGA Championship victory

Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, PGA Championship

Phil Mickelson shocked the world on Sunday by winning the PGA Championship. At the age of 50, he became the oldest to win a major and it was just a month before his 51st birthday. After the victory that sent the sports world abuzz, Tiger Woods took to Twitter to pay his respect to The Lefty.

It was exactly that- truly inspirational. Mickelson defied the odds, literally. This other Mickelson nugget is nearly impossible to believe also.

Nonetheless, Mickelson got it done in amazing fashion on Sunday afternoon to bring home the championship. Even more impressive is the fact that Mickelson was ranked 115th in the Official World Golf Ranking prior to the PGA Championship as he set out to prove everybody wrong.

Yes, Mickelson really won the PGA Championship at the age of 50 when nobody thought he would. He sank the putt on the 18th green and sent the crowd into a frenzy, and his remarkable feat is one that everybody should appreciate. Plus, the fact that Mickelson did all of this at the half-century mark is insane.

Mickelson entered play on Sunday with the lead and never wavered on his way to the title. The lesson learned for everybody from Phil Mickelson is to never give up, no matter how high the odds are or how many people are going against you.
