After missing Sunday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to left ankle soreness, Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose returned to practice on Monday, according to head coach Tom Thibodeau.

The Timberwolves play the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, a game Derrick Rose probably wants to play in considering he's a Chicago native and he played for the Bulls for the first eight years of his NBA career.

Starting point guard Jeff Teague is still out with a left ankle injury, so the Timberwolves need Derrick Rose. The former MVP is averaging 18.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game this season while shooting 48.5 percent from the field, 46.9 percent from beyond the arc and 84.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Tyus Jones started for Rose on Sunday versus Oklahoma City. The 22-year-old finished with five points and four assists in the Timberwolves' 114-112 win against the Thunder. It was Minnesota's first win on the road this season against a Western Conference team.

The Timberwolves are 15-18 on the season, 13th place in the Western Conference standings. As a starter this year, Rose is averaging 23.8 points and 6.0 assists and shooting 45.5 percent overall and 52.6 percent from the 3-point line.
