Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose won the House of Highlights Moment of the Year for his 50-point game on Halloween against the Utah Jazz.
The 50 points was a career-high for Rose, who has undergone four knee surgeries and one eye procedure since winning the MVP award back in 2011 with the Chicago Bulls.
During his postgame interview, Rose became emotional and began to cry. The former MVP has been through a lot and he knew how special the moment was. It was a performance which captivated the entire NBA. Stars around the league from LeBron James to Stephen Curry all reacted to the performance from Rose.
Overall this past season with the Timberwolves, Rose averaged 18.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game while shooting 48.2 percent overall and 37.0 percent from the 3-point line. The Chicago native became the first NBA player since 1983 to score at least 917 points in fewer than 1,400 minutes. Rose scored 917 points and played a total of 1,392 minutes.
Rose becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. The Timberwolves have Jeff Teague and Tyus Jones on the roster. Since Derrick turns 31 in October and Minnesota isn't a playoff team, Rose might look to sign with a contender once free agency starts on June 30.
