The Minnesota Timberwolves made the drastic decision shortly before Thanksgiving to move point guard Jeff Teague to the bench. In light of that decision, the organization has made it known to teams around the league that Teague could be had for the right price in a trade, per Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

Minnesota jumped out to a 7-4 start to the season, placing themselves in the conversation for a Western Conference playoff berth. Since then, they have gone just 3-10, and as Krawczynski points out, the team could use an infusion of new life.

Teague has found his rhythm over the past four games, averaging 23 points per game, while shooting an incredible 78.6 percent from behind the three-point line; it's unlikely that his value could get any higher.

In the final season of what was a three-year, $57 million deal, Teague will only be owed a prorated amount of what remains on his $19 million price tag of 2019-20. Any team acquiring him would do so knowing that the veteran will hit free agency over the summer.

Head coach Ryan Saunders has gone the route of starting rookie Jarrett Culver as the team's point guard, with Andrew Wiggins and Josh Okogie also in the backcourt to pitch in on ball-handling duties.

Whether the team would move Teague in the hopes of continuing their playoff push this year or deferring to the future remains unclear.

It's conceivable that multiple teams in the playoff hunt could see Teague as a legitimate asset, putting his future in Minnesota very much in question.
