The Minnesota Timberwolves made arguably the biggest move of the NBA offseason when they traded with the Utah Jazz for All-Star center Rudy Gobert. It was one of the largest hauls in NBA trade history, as Minnesota sent four first-round picks, their first-round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Walker Kessler, and three other rotational players. Despite the massive cost, the trade was a clear sign that the Timberwolves want to win and win now.

With the trade in the rearview mirror, Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns let everyone know how he and Gobert will co-exist.

“I want to win… I think that Rudy adds a huge component to that. He's gonna be a massive part of us being a championship team. My job is to help him as much as he is going to help me. His strengths are my weaknesses and his weaknesses are my strengths. So we'll be able to play off of each other,” the Timberwolves big man said.

Minnesota reached the playoffs last year, losing to the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round in a tightly contested series. It was still a successful season for Minnesota. They were led by Karl-Anthony Towns and rising star Anthony Edwards. They also have D'Angelo Russell running point guard. The addition of Gobert certainly gives Minnesota one of the better starting units in the NBA.

Towns references he and Gobert's strengths and weaknesses. Gobert is basically a black hole offensively. Towns struggles to move his feet and change shots defensively. The two might just work well but it remains to be seen.
