Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Karl-Anthony Towns pretty much summed up how all of us feel about 2020. In a short but straightforward tweet, KAT bid goodbye to the incredibly punishing year with an expletive message.

It truly was a tough year for Towns as his family was pretty much ravaged by the COVID-19 pandemic.

In April, the All-Star center lost his mother, Jacquline Cruz, after a long battle with the dreaded virus. Since then, Towns revealed that six other family members also perished after contracting the highly contagious disease.

The 25-year-old superstar was visibly emotional after the Timberwolves won their first game of the season against the Detroit Pistons. As Towns continues to carry the burden of losing his loved ones, he also offered a generous donation to the Mayo Clinic to help fight COVID-19 and help those who were infected.

Towns has also channeled his pain into motivation. He came out strong this season, averaging 19.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 3.0 blocks in his first two games. But bad luck just won't leave him alone in 2020 as he injured his wrist late in December. There is still no timetable for his return.

After winning their first two games of the season with KAT in tow, the Timberwolves dropped their last two outings against the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers.

Much like the rest of the population, Towns is undeniably fed up over the tragedies that 2020 brought. Many want to move forward and start fresh. Hopefully, better days are ahead for Karl-Anthony Towns and the rest of the world in 2021.
