Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns has some bold aspirations for his partnership with Anthony Edwards. The 26-year-old believes he and Ant-Man can can become one of the best duos in the NBA, but in order to do that, they have to play at a high level.

But at what level can KAT and Edwards say that they are one of, if not the best duo in the NBA? Well, it's simple: they have to be like Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant.

Towns made the admission in his recent talk with Malika Andrews of ESPN, noting how they need to work on their all-around game and really show that commitment and hunger to be the best.

“Go out there and play at a level that hasn’t been seen since Shaq and Kobe, if possible. Do what we do best. I think we just need to continue being ourselves and raise our games all around,” Towns explained. “… I have a lot of work to do, he has a lot of work to do, but if we could come together, continuously grow and commit to each other, commit to this organization, and commit to winning, we can be right there.”

Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards certainly have the talents to become a formidable duo in the NBA. They have yet to reach their peak, but if they can develop further and address the weaknesses in their games to better complement each other, then sky is the limit on what they can achieve.

Having another All-Star talent in Rudy Gobert should only help the two Timberwolves stars grow. The Frenchman should take a ton of load off them defensively, allowing them to better spread the floor and utilize their offensive arsenal to the best of their abilities.

It remains to be seen if Towns and Edwards can live up to their potential, but one thing is clear: they know what is required of them to make that possible.
