The Minnesota Timberwolves sent shockwaves throughout the NBA on Wednesday when they fired team president Gersson Rosas.

Things appeared to be coming together for the Timberwolves before they dropped this bomb.

Their superstar play, Karl-Anthony Towns, isn't happy.

This move seems to have blindsided many even with some of the front office disagreements that may have been going on behind the scenes for the Timberwolves.

Rosas was running the show for a lot of the major moves Minnesota has made the last few years. He orchestrated the trade that sent D'Angelo Russell to the Timberwolves and Andrew Wiggins out the door to the Golden State Warriors. He was also one of, if not the key voice involved when the Wolves drafted Anthony Edwards No. 1 overall in the 2020 NBA Draft.

On top of all that, Rosas hand selected his head coach when he fired Ryan Saunders during the season last year and brought in Chris Finch. Now all of that work, at least for Rosas, has gone for not after his firing.

It's fairly unprecedented to see a move like this made with the NBA regular season starting in a month. One would assume this would be a move that would come way earlier in the summer to allow time for the Timberwolves to adjust and bring in someone else.

Clearly Towns isn't happy and he's likely not the only one on the roster that is baffled by this move.
