Kevin Garnett spent most of his NBA career with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

He was drafted by the franchise in 1995, played the first 12 seasons of his tenure there before being traded to the Boston Celtics in 2007. After spending six seasons in Boston and a year and a half with the Brooklyn Nets, Garnett returned to the Timberwolves midway through the 2014-15 campaign and spent his final one and a half NBA seasons in Minnesota.

But while Garnett has regularly proclaimed his love for Wolves fans, he does not feel the same way about Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor.

The Celtics will be retiring Garnett's number next season, which had many wondering why Minnesota has not yet done the same thing. Well, during an interview with Shams Charania of The Athletic, the recently inducted Hall of Famer explained why:

“Glen knows where I’m at, I’m not entertaining it,” said Garnett. “First of all, it’s not genuine. Two, he’s getting pressure from a lot of fans and, I guess, the community there. Glen and I had an understanding before Flip (Saunders) died, and when Flip died, that understanding went with Flip. For that, I won’t forgive Glen. I won’t forgive him for that. I thought he was a straight up person, straight up business man, and when Flip died, everything went with him.”

When KG originally returned to the Timberwolves in 2015, he and Taylor had agreed that he would eventually join the ownership group or play a key role in the franchise once Taylor retired. But after Saunders passed away, Taylor went back on his word, leaving Garnett incensed to this day:

“There’s no reason to complain. Just continue to move on. My years in Minnesota and in that community, I cherish. At this point, I don’t want any dealings with Glen Taylor or Taylor Corp. or anything that has to do with him. I love my Timberwolves, I’ll always love my guys, I’ll always love the people who fuck with me there. I’ll always have a special place for the city of Minneapolis and the state of Minnesota in my heart. But I don’t do business with snakes. I don’t do business with snake mu’fuckas. I try not to do business with openly snakes or people who are snake-like.”

The 43-year-old's seemingly irreparable relationship with Taylor is an obstacle he'll never get over, which is a bummer for Timberwolves fans.
