Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor says backup point guard Derrick Rose is a wonderful person and that he is very appreciative of what the former league MVP has done with the team this season.

Rose is one of the frontrunners for the Sixth Man of the Year award. The 30-year-old is averaging 18.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game and shooting 49.8 percent from the field, 48.7 percent from beyond the arc and 85.9 percent from the free-throw line coming off the Timberwolves' bench.

Derrick Rose scored a career-high 50 points against the Utah Jazz on Halloween and started crying after his brilliant performance. All of Rose's teammates mobbed him with hugs after the game and celebrated the 50-point night by throwing water on Rose in the postgame locker room. It spoke to just how much Rose is loved by his teammates in Minnesota.

By now, everyone knows what Rose has been through. After becoming the youngest MVP in NBA history back in 2011 with the Chicago Bulls, the explosive guard has suffered four knee surgeries. The Chicago native could have given up and retired from the game. Instead, Rose persevered through all the injuries and rehabs, and he is showing the fruit of his labor this season with his stellar play on the court.

Glen Taylor's words are very important because he reportedly didn't allow Minnesota head coach and president Tom Thibodeau to trade for Rose back in the 2016-17 season. Thibodeau wanted to trade Ricky Rubio to the New York Knicks in exchange for Rose, but Taylor wasn't on board with the move.

Fast forward to today, and Taylor is now one of Rose's biggest fans. It just goes to show you that you can't judge a player or person until you interact with them on a daily basis.

Minnesota is 12-12 on the season. The team is 8-3 since trading Jimmy Butler to the Philadelphia 76ers and Rose is a big reason why the team is playing so good. Rose is averaging 17.9 points in the 10 games he has played in since the Butler trade.
