The Minnesota Timberwolves currently hold a decent-sized lead over the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night. Minnesota is holding onto a playoff spot for now while Dallas is in fourth place in the Western Conference. During this important matchup, Patrick Beverley took a shot to the face from Dwight Powell.

Rob Perez shows the highlight through social media. After making a terrific block, Beverley attempted to run down the court to get back on defense. However, Powell clearly sticks an elbow out, hitting Patrick Beverley square in the face. It resulted in a called foul, where the Timberwolves point guard starts to celebrate before the video cuts off.

Patrick Beverley is known for getting his opponents to act out on the court. He's one of the most vocal players in the NBA and seemed to have found a way to get under Powell's skin, It's a harsh hit to the face, but the Timberwolves are going to get the last laugh with a big win on Friday night.

Normally we don't see Dwight Powell or the Mavs react in this way. However, Beverley is arguably the best in the league at bringing out the worst in his opponents. He's brought toughness and ferocity to the Timberwolves, who have been missing that fire for years. It's rubbed off on Karl Anthony-Towns, as he's playing with much more enthusiasm and emotion than ever before.

Hopefully, the Timberwolves find a way to make the postseason. They're an incredibly fun team to watch, even if they lose. Despite taking a hard shot to the face, Beverley has put on a solid performance on Friday night, helping his team lock down the victory. Maybe Minnesota will face the Mavs in the playoffs? If so, prepare the popcorn.
